Speaker – Srinath Perera, United Socialist Party (USP) Sri Lanka The USP stands for a socialist programme to: End the war in Sri Lanka End discrimination and oppression Recognise the rights of all Tamil-speaking people Unite Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim workers and poor people against war, poverty and exploitation The Sri Lankan government of Rajapakse has been responsible for the kidnapping and killings of predominantly Tamil speaking people. The government spends huge sums of money on the war and is bombing the north of the island, while the economy is in ruins and food prices are soaring. Come along to the meeting and join in the debate on how we can help in the fight for socialism. |
