More than 1 million fans of Mac-e-D’s
Yes that’s right, the home of the Big Mac, McDonald’s has more than 1,000,000 fans on facebook, 1.2 Million in fact.
But look at the 25th of Aug and then again on the 27th… what happened their?
Well some commentates suggest that McDonald has asked Facebook to close it’s nonofficial fan pages and fold them into it’s main page. It’s not the first time either. As that post points out their are a number of ways of making sure that you as the owner of the brand get control of your fan page. However not handling this correctly could be social media suicide, imagine if you where part of a happy fan based, fan centered, fan page on facebook, a community you’ve spent maybe years fostering, only to have the company your a fan of pull the rug from under your feet, without even a thank you for the hard work you’ve put into it.
Not the best way to treat your fan is it?
